To register for this course, the student must have already taken the course. All course skills will be assessed. Note that the English groups are multilevel: (secondary 1 and 2 ) and (secondary 3 and 4 ).

Secondary 1 Online group lessons
This group course is 3 weeks long, for a total of 45 hours online teaching. There will be students of secondary 1 and 2 in the same group.
From July 2nd to July 19th: 45 hours of class, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. everyday. Each class will be recorded and made available to students for review purposes. This period will be an opportunity to review all essential knowledge.
The platform used is simple and user-friendly, in addition to being accessible from a computer or a digital tablet. These are not pre-recorded lectures, but a live stream with a qualified and experienced teacher. The student will be able to ask the teacher questions during the lesson, just as he will be called upon to interact and participate actively in the class. The teacher rigorously monitors your child’s attendance, effort and participation. You will receive regular updates to inform you about the progression of your child in the class.
This course is intended for students currently enrolled in any Quebec francophone high school who have not successfully completed their course or who wish to consolidate their learning. For students who finished the last school year with a grade of under 50%, we strongly suggest and recommend that you register your child to one of our individual tutoring blocks to ensure his success.
The registration deadline for this course is June 30th, 2024 subject to space availability.
The deadline for a cancellation with a full refund is July 1st, 2024 at 4:00 pm.In order to receive a full refund the parent must submit the student's final report card that shows a passing grade. A penalty of $125 will be applied to any cancellations without proof of successful completion. Cancellations after 4:01 pm on July 1st 2024 will not be refunded.
The final exams will be completed remotely and will use the online monitoring platform Nexam. The final exams require the use of a laptop or desktop computer ONLY. Tablets are not supported for the final exams. It is the parents responsibility to provide access to a computer with updated Google Chrome web browser for optimal functionality.
The final exams will assess the following competencies:
Competency 1 : Interacts orally in English.
Competency 2 : Reinvests understanding of texts.
Competency 3 : Writes and produces texts.

Secondary 1 Exam only
This service only includes the evaluation of the portfolio by a Quebec-certified teacher of the Secondary 1 English as a second language course for learners registered at the Direction de l’enseignement à la maison (DEM).
The deadline for submission of the portfolio is June 3rd, 2024.
The evaluation includes a detailed and commented evaluation grid for the portfolio. Each competency will be evaluated and commented separately to ensure the parent has the proper feedback for the year-long evaluation. Succes Scolaire will also declare the final grade to the Minister of Education after the evaluation grid has been returned to the parent.
Succes Scolaire will not advise on or create the learning project that the portfolio is based on.
We recommend that you utilize the DEM and AQED as resources in the creation of your learning project and in organizing the contents of your portfolio to make sure that it conforms to the expectations of the DEM. Succes Scolaire will only evaluate a completed portfolio based on the traces shown in the portfolio based on competencies of each course.
It is not possible to have a subject portfolio evaluated with a ministerial examination.

The assessment of Competency 1 and 3 are ministerial tests, it must be carried out face-to-face in one of our partner schools. You will receive an email after the beginning of the course to choose from the list of our locations.
