Secondary 1 Exam only
Portfolio evaluations are intended for students who are 18 years old or younger during the current school year (until June 30, 2026).
This service only includes the evaluation of the portfolio by a Quebec-certified teacher of the Secondary 1 French, as a first language course for learners registered at the Direction de l’enseignement à la maison (DEM).
The deadline for submission of the portfolio is June 5th, 2026.
The deadline for a cancellation with a full refund is March 27th, 2026 at 4:00 pm. Cancellations after 4:01 pm on March 27th, 2026 will not be refunded.
The evaluation includes a detailed and commented evaluation grid for the portfolio. Each competency will be evaluated and commented separately to ensure the parent has the proper feedback for the year-long evaluation. Succes Scolaire will also declare the final grade to the Minister of Education after the evaluation grid has been returned to the parent.
Succes Scolaire will not advise on or create the learning project that the portfolio is based on.
We recommend that you utilize the DEM as a resource in the creation of your learning project and in organizing the contents of your portfolio to make sure that it conforms to the expectations of the DEM. Succès Scolaire will only evaluate a completed portfolio based on the traces shown in the portfolio based on competencies of each course.
It is not possible to have a subject portfolio evaluated with a ministerial examination.

Secondary 5 Online group lessons
Fall session 2026
Classes will be held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and on Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. School breaks will take place from November 7 to 10, as well as from December 19, 2026 to January 1, 2027 inclusively.
These classes will be recorded and made available to students for review purposes. They are the perfect opportunity to revisit all essential knowledge.
The platform used is simple and user-friendly, and is also accessible on computers and tablets. The course cannot be followed on a smartphone. These are not pre-recorded video capsules, but rather a course offered live by a qualified and experienced teacher (synchronous mode). Students will be able to ask their teacher questions during class, just as they will be expected to interact and actively participate in class. Attendance, engagement, and participation are closely monitored by the teaching team.
This course is intended for students who have never taken the course before.
The deadline for cancellation with a full refund is September 11, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. A penalty of $125 will be applied to cancellations occurring between September 11, 2026 at 4:01 p.m. and September 18, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Cancellations occurring as of September 18, 2026 at 4:01 p.m. will not be refunded.
Competency 1 and 3 evaluations take place online, during class. The Competency 2 evaluation is a ministerial exam and must be completed in person at one of our partner schools.
- A preparatory workbook must be picked up on Thursday, November 26, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.-
The exam will take place on December 3, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
The final evaluations will cover the following competencies:
Competency 1: Reading and appreciating a variety of texts. (online)
Competency 2: Writing a variety of texts – Date to be confirmed (in person)
Competency 3: Oral communication in various contexts. (online)
The evaluation results from École Succès Scolaire will be released starting February 11, 2027. The results obtained for this course will be transmitted by École Succès Scolaire to the Ministère de l'Éducation du Québec.
The student's academic transcript from the Ministère de l'Éducation du Québec confirming eligibility for the course will be required in the registration form.
École Succès Scolaire will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the student according to the pre-defined support measures outlined in their intervention plan, in accordance with the reality and context of its course offerings.
If a student has an intervention plan, it is the responsibility of the parent to provide all tools listed in the intervention plan. École Succès Scolaire is not responsible for providing the tools listed in the student's intervention plan.
Although our courses are recognized by the Ministère de l'Éducation, the promotion standards of your home school or School Services Centre may vary. We therefore recommend that you verify with them before registering.
