Ministry exams
Courses subject to ministerial sanction end with a ministry exam, which must be completed in person at one of our partner locations. Here are the cities where our service points will be located for the Winter 2027 session.

A session built to help students regain their footing
During the winter session, each group is taught by a qualified teacher who knows the ministry's requirements well. A teaching assistant is also present during class to provide differentiated support: when a student has a question or hits a snag, they can get help without the rest of the group losing momentum.
This extra layer of support, uncommon among online course providers in Quebec, keeps the benefits of a group course, structure, a set schedule, interaction with classmates, while making sure no student stays stuck on a concept while preparing for the ministry exam.

My child failed a course or a ministry exam in the fall. Can they register for Winter 2027?
Yes, that's exactly what this session is for. Whether it was the course itself or just the final exam, there's a format that fits: a shorter retake if the material is already familiar, or a full course if it needs to be covered from scratch.
Are the winter courses recognized by Quebec's Ministry of Education?
Yes, without exception. School Success Academy is a private institution accredited by the ministry, and every grade earned, whether in class or on the ministry exam, is officially recorded on the student's academic file.
What's the difference between a retake course and a full course?
If your child has already covered the material and just needs a targeted boost, a retake is usually enough and takes less time. If they've never taken the course, or missed most of it, a full course goes through the entire curriculum from start to finish.
How does the ministry exam work?
It takes place in person, at a partner location near you (Montreal, Longueuil, Laval, or Quebec City). Once your registration is confirmed, you'll receive the exact address and the exam time.
What should I do while waiting for registration to open?

Portfolio evaluations are intended for students who are 18 years old or younger during the current school year (until June 30, 2026).
This service only includes the evaluation of the portfolio by a Quebec-certified teacher of the Secondary 1 French, as a first language course for learners registered at the Direction de l’enseignement à la maison (DEM).
The deadline for submission of the portfolio is June 5th, 2026.
The deadline for a cancellation with a full refund is March 27th, 2026 at 4:00 pm. Cancellations after 4:01 pm on March 27th, 2026 will not be refunded.
The evaluation includes a detailed and commented evaluation grid for the portfolio. Each competency will be evaluated and commented separately to ensure the parent has the proper feedback for the year-long evaluation. Succes Scolaire will also declare the final grade to the Minister of Education after the evaluation grid has been returned to the parent.
Succes Scolaire will not advise on or create the learning project that the portfolio is based on.

From February 7th, 2026 to June 11th, 2026, every Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.,and every Thursdays from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the exception of February 28th, March 5th, April 4th, April 9th, May 16th and May 21nd 2026. Each class will be recorded and made available to students so they can review previous lessons and concepts at their own pace.
This course is intended for students currently enrolled in any Quebec francophone high school who have not successfully completed their course or who wish to consolidate their learning. For students who finished the last school year with a grade of under 50%, we strongly suggest and recommend that you register your child to one of our individual tutoring blocks to ensure his success.
The platform used is simple and user-friendly, in addition to being accessible from a computer or a digital tablet. The course can't be followed from a smartphone. These are not pre-recorded lectures, but a live stream with a qualified and experienced teacher. The student will be able to ask the teacher questions during the lesson, just as he will be called upon to interact and participate actively in the class.
