Retaking ministry exams

Students who fail a compulsory subject for their high school diploma can retake the failed ministry exam through School Success Academy. To be eligible for a Ministry exam retake, the student must have completed the corresponding course. We send all results directly to the Québec Ministry of Education, and the final score will appear on the student's official academic transcript (relevé des apprentissages).

How to Register for a Ministry Exam Retake?

Registrations for the summer session Ministry exam retakes are open from July 8 to 25, 2025. You can register through our online registration form.

Important: All Ministry exam retakes must be completed in person. Please make sure you can attend one of the available service points, which will be listed in the registration form.

Note: These Ministry exams are administered in French only.

Need help preparing?

If your child needs support reviewing the material, they can join a live online group course offered by School Succes Academy. This course provides intensive revision to help prepare for the retake of the ministry exam. Bonus: When you register for a group course in a subject with a Ministry exam, the retake registration is included .
