Why choose School Success Academy? Innovation, commitment and personalized teaching.

School Success Academy is a virtual secondary school recognized by Quebec's Ministry of Education. We offer online high school courses. These synchronous courses are either full courses or retake courses, designed to help students continue their academic path.

Please note: all courses on this page belong to the French-sector curriculum only. Course names below are given in French, as that is their official designation.

Retake courses, full courses, and prerequisite courses

Certain credits are essential to the academic path of Secondary 4 and 5 students. Passing courses subject to ministerial sanction is mandatory for earning the Diplôme d'Études Secondaires (DES). Your child may also need a prerequisite course in science or math to be admitted into the CEGEP program of their choice.

In the fall, School Success Academy offers several essential and prerequisite courses, whether as retakes or full courses.

Retake course
$605
45 hours · Reinforce course material ahead of a new ministry exam attempt.
Full course
$750
60 hours · Complete the full curriculum, earn DES credits, and meet CEGEP prerequisites if needed.
Included in both formats:
✔️ A 1-to-30 ratio: a teaching assistant joins once the group grows past 30 students
✔️ Individual performance tracking, with a progress report
✔️ Report card
✔️ Proof of enrollment available for CEGEP

Who are School Success Academy's courses for?

Our courses serve a wide range of students, including those who:

✔️ Already took a high school course once and failed it
✔️ Are enrolled in Quebec's French-sector curriculum
✔️ Need a course to complete their DES (Diplôme d'Études Secondaires)
✔️ Need science or math prerequisites for a CEGEP program
✔️ Need to retake one or more ministry exams
✔️ Want to reinforce material covered throughout the school year

Final evaluations and exam locations

Courses end with final evaluations. Some evaluations can be completed online, while ministry exams must be completed in person, at a designated exam location.

Evaluation details, key dates, and exam locations, where applicable, are listed in the session's school calendar.

A schedule built to fit into a fall routine

Unlike an intensive summer course, the fall session runs over several months, with one live class and one practice workshop each week, on weekday evenings or weekends. This pace gives students time to absorb the material gradually, without crowding out their other school or extracurricular commitments.

Each group is still led by a qualified teacher, with the option of targeted help whenever a concept doesn't click, right up to the final evaluation or ministry exam set out in the calendar.

Homeschooling

We also offer services for homeschooling families, including portfolio evaluation and full group courses.

Registration is done online for both services. After selecting your child's grade level, you'll see the options available to you: available courses, or subjects assessed as part of the portfolio evaluation. To learn more specifically about portfolio evaluation, see our Homeschooling page.

For more information, please write directly to the school.

Frequently asked questions about the Fall 2026 session

How much do the courses cost?

A retake course, which runs 45 hours, is $605. A full course, which runs 60 hours, is $750. Both formats include a 1-to-30 ratio (a teaching assistant joins the group once it grows past 30 students), individual performance tracking with a progress report, a report card, and proof of enrollment available for CEGEP. Pricing is the same across all courses in the Fall session, regardless of subject or grade level.

Are spots limited for Fall 2026?

Groups have a maximum capacity and fill up on a first-come, first-served basis. Since courses start the week of September 19, it's best to register early to get the schedule that works best for your family.

The course meets on a weekend and on a weekday evening: does my child need to attend both?

Each week includes a main class (on the weekend) and a practice workshop (in the evening). Both are part of the course and complement each other: the main class covers the material, and the workshop puts it into practice with support on hand.

Does the new Mathématique, Sciences naturelles course replace an existing one?

No, it's an addition to our existing offering. It's aimed at Secondary 5 students in the Natural Sciences math sequence and rounds out the math and science options already available.

Do all courses end with an in-person exam?

No. Some courses, like Chimie and Mathématique, Sciences naturelles this session, assess competencies directly during class time. Others, like Histoire, Mathématique CST, and Français, end with a ministry exam that must be completed in person at a designated location.

What if I'm not sure which course my child needs?

Write to us directly at ecole@successcolaire.ca with your child's report card or transcript. Our team can confirm whether it's a retake, a full course, or a prerequisite to add.

Where does the ministry exam take place?

At one of our partner schools, based on the student's home address. Confirmation of the exact location is sent in November 2026, once groups are finalized.
